Dear volunteer

We are in an Eco Yoga Ashram in Mayapur, a beatifull island located over the sacred Ganges river. This is one of nine islands, considered one of the sacrest place in the world.

Mayapur enviroment has an unique tropical beauty, sourrounded by the rivers Ganges and Saraswati. Is a quiet place with an small, friendly and colourfull population.

We are a group of persons from different countries who live in this beatifull asram in accordance to the antiques yoga teachings. We use to wake up early in the morning to meditate chanting mystics mantras, working in harmony with nature and sharing with people, who visit us, this intesting way of life.

Volunteers are helping us to improve our community and the enviroment. They work for 4 to 5 hours a day in the morning in gardening, old temple restauration, helping cooking vegetarian food, teaching english to local students, caring for the cows at the goshalas, cleanen of sacred places, etc.

"We're trying to keep Mayapur clean. Come with us to pick the garbage, and help us with other things too."
Subal, in charge of Jahnavi Kunja
